History

G.C. Andersen’s roots go back to the groundbreaking and transformative financing pioneered by Drexel Burnham Lambert. Throughout the 80s decade, Drexel created solutions which changed the business and corporate landscape forever. While many remember it for the famous, headline-grabbing deals, the fact is that important, solid and substantial companies were built that changed industries and continue to prosper.

One of the key drivers of this engine that enabled entrepreneurs to realize their vision was a partnership between Chris Andersen and Michael Milken produced deal structures that helped fuel the business strategies of Sir Jimmy Goldsmith, John Malone, Michael Blumenthal and Wayne Huizenga. Companies included Diamond International, Grand Union, Crown Zellerbach, Mesa Petroleum, TCI, UNISYS and Blockbuster.

More recently, these roots fed the development and success of companies such as United Rental, United Waste, XPO Logistics and Terex.

Our expertise is spread evenly around the partnership. We bring an enormous store of experience to the clients we work with today:

  • Partners at GCA have an average of 31 years experience
  • Partners at GCA have led industry practice groups at over 30 different firms
  • Partners have been and are directors at significant public and private companies
  • Partners have received numerous industry awards

G.C. Andersen’s value proposition of bringing innovative solutions to complex issues of corporate capital works because the partners here have the intellectual capital to develop these transactions and the experiences that ensure they are completed.
